You knew he was married.

Not separated. Not free. Married.

And so were you.

The two of you made the same choice—to betray the people you had stood beside and the vows you had made before God. This wasn't a story of two people who simply fell in love. It was the story of two married people who chose deception over integrity.

He lied to me. He lied to God.

And you lied to your husband. You lied to God.

You were equal partners in the deception, and neither of you gets to rewrite that truth.

You may have convinced yourself that you were different. That you were "the one." That he was going to leave and build a life with you.

But here's the truth.

You were never his future. You were his escape.

You may have believed every word he whispered to you, but while he was telling you he loved you, he was still coming home to me. He may have painted a picture of a marriage that was over, but our marriage was still real, our life was still shared, and every night he returned to the home and the wife he had vowed before God to cherish.

The fantasy he sold you was never reality.

You will always be the other woman. That isn't an insult—it's simply the role you chose. No matter how he tried to rewrite the story, you were never the wife. You were never the commitment. You were never the covenant.

One day, when the excitement fades and the lies are stripped away, I hope you have the courage to accept the truth.

He chose his wife.

He chose his family.

He chose to fight for the life he almost destroyed.

I hope you stand by that reality with the same conviction you once held onto the fantasy that he would choose you.

Because the truth is this: you were never his destination. You were a detour born from poor choices, deception, and broken promises.

Affairs don't begin with love. They begin with betrayal.

And when someone is willing to betray the person they promised forever, they are equally capable of betraying the person they promised "always."

You were not the prize.

You were the mistake.

A mistake that cost people deeply. A mistake he will carry for the rest of his life. A mistake that will forever be part of his story—and yours.

As for me, I refuse to let this define me. I know who I am. I know my value. My worth was never diminished by someone else's choices.

I leave this chapter knowing that integrity, faith, forgiveness, and truth will always outlast deception.

You may have had his attention for a season.

But I have his commitment, the family we built together, and the future he chose to protect.

And you will always be remembered as the other woman.
